Long-distance Medical Transport for Every Type of Patient
Based in Las Vegas, Serving the United States
Patient Medical Transport offers state-to-state long-distance medical transportation services. Based in Las Vegas, we provide regular transport services to and from nearby towns like Bullhead or Lake Havasu and offer longer rides to cities such as Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. We’ve crossed the Mississippi to get our patients where they need to be and we have partners throughout the US who practice the same safe transport practices we do.
Safer Equipment, Safer Processes
We emphasize the safety, comfort, and dignity of our patients in everything we do. We use crash-tested (WC19) fully-reclining wheelchairs to provide the safest driving environment for our passengers. Our equipment and process also allows patients to transfer laterally from a bed to our wheelchair to eliminate the need for vertical lifting or transfer slings.
Offering Both Comfort and Dignity
Our process allows nearly all patients to comfortably ride upright and facing forward, the safest way to ride in a vehicle. Our positioning wheelchair allows near-infinite adjustment so that those with wounds or other clinical needs can ride with comfort and dignity.
We Respect Our Patients and Their Care Providers
We show our respect for patients and their care providers by arriving on time, having cost-effective pricing, and showing dignity and kindness in everything we do.
Fully-reclining, crash-tested (WC19) wheelchair-gurney hybrid.
Lateral transfers provide a safe, respectful experience with no lifting and no slings.
Our Safety Difference
The No-lift NEMT Process
- Full-reclining Wheelchairs Allowing Lateral Transfers
- All Wheelchairs Crash-tested (WC-19)
- Even Gurney Patients May Sit Upright and Face Forward During Transport
- Lower Risk of Falls During Transfer
- Lower Risk of Falls While in Chair
The most dangerous points in any medical transport are: transferring into a wheelchair or gurney (and vise-versa), move a patient in a wheelchair or gurney to a vehicle, loading or unloading a wheelchair/gurney into or from a vehicle, and having a patient seated in a wheelchair while in a moving vehicle.
At Patient Medical Transport, we address every risk point with No-lift NEMT, a safer, more comfortable way to transport patients.
No-lift NEMT implements a fully-reclining wheelchair/gurney hybrid which can fully recline to allow patients to be transferred into the chair without standing and/or pivoting and without the use of a sling. Once in the chair, the seat (not and the back as well) can be tilted backward so that the patient’s center of gravity is falling backward into the chair, making falls from the chair highly unlikely. Further, because the patient is in a wheelchair, delicate patients do not need to be loaded in a vehicle on a gurney which requires multiple individuals and heavy lifting. Our wheelchairs utilize a simple ramp or lift on the back of our vehicles. Finally, patients may sit up and face forward in a crash-tested wheelchair, the safest way to be transported in a vehicle other than being in a vehicle seat.
Did you know that the vast majority of wheelchairs are not suitable for transport in a vehicle? Wheelchairs are typically designed to be lightweight and portable which makes sense in many situations–but riding in a vehicle is not one of them. While companies may be diligent in connecting crash-tested securement belts to a standard wheelchair, it does little good if the wheelchair itself collapses in a collision. We provide ultra-comfortable, crash-tested WC-19 designated wheelchairs in all our vehicles.
How well do we know No-lift NEMT? Travis Draney, owner and operator of Patient Medical Transport is also the developer of No-lift NEMT.
